Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Full Stack Engineer About LaunchDarkly Engineering LaunchDarkly helps engineering organizations ship software and AI with speed, safety, and control. Our platform gives teams the confidence to release gradually, target experiences to the right audiences, learn through experimentation, understand what is happening in production, and respond quickly when risk appears. Our engineers build the systems, services, SDKs, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, and product experiences that make this possible. The work spans high-scale distributed systems, reliable data and event pipelines, intuitive enterprise workflows, and AI-powered capabilities that help teams manage the next generation of software delivery. LaunchDarkly’s SDKs are used in systems that perform trillions of feature flag evaluations each day, giving our engineering work a direct connection to the reliability and customer experience of software around the world. As the company grows, we are expanding beyond traditional feature management into experimentation, observability, and AgentControl—helping customers control more of the software and AI lifecycle. That creates an unusually broad set of technical challenges, visible customer impact, and room for engineers to shape what comes next. We believe in the power of teams. We work with humility, openness, curiosity, and care; we value clear communication, thoughtful technical judgment, inclusive collaboration, and a strong sense of ownership. We encourage people to apply even when they do not meet every qualification listed below. We are interested in the experience, perspective, and potential you would bring to the role. About the role The specific level and technical emphasis will vary by opportunity. Some teams may prioritize backend depth, data-intensive applications, enterprise workflows, observability, experimentation, or AI-powered product experiences. As a Full Stack Engineer at LaunchDarkly, you will build customer-facing product experiences and the backend systems that support them. You will work across the application boundary from intuitive, accessible interfaces to reliable services, APIs, and data flows and help shape how customers understand, configure, and control software delivery. This is an opportunity to work on products where engineering judgment is visible. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and other engineering teams to make complex capabilities feel clear and useful, while ensuring that the underlying systems are scalable, secure, and dependable. What you’ll do Build and ship end-to-end product capabilities across frontend and backend systems. Develop user experiences using technologies such as TypeScript and React, along with services and APIs using technologies such as Go, Python, or comparable tools. Translate customer problems and product goals into thoughtful technical designs and incremental delivery plans. Own features from discovery and design through implementation, launch, measurement, and iteration. Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and engineering partners to make decisions that balance usability, performance, reliability, and time to value. Write readable, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to shared engineering practices. Improve observability, operational health, and the quality of the systems you touch. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, incident response, and continuous improvement. Qualifications 5+ years of experience building and operating production software in a professional environment, or equivalent demonstrable experience. Experience contributing across both frontend and backend layers, with a willingness to work at the API boundary rather than in only one part of the stack. Experience with a backend language such as Go, Python , Rust, or an equivalent language. (Most of our teams use Go) Experience with a modern frontend framework, such as React, and a typed language, such as TypeScript. Experience designing or consuming APIs and working with backend services, data stores, or asynchronous systems. Strong product instincts and an ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes. Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with engineers and cross-functional partners. A commitment to quality, accessibility, maintainability, and continuous learning.
